New software service from strata-assist helps strata
councils, owners and property managers
Strata-assist, a British Columbia company, provides a low
cost, web based software application to ease the administrative burden of
operating and managing a strata property. Strata councils, strata
owners/tenants and property managers will all benefit from the software
features. The new product automates many of the labour intensive, time
consuming tasks associated with strata management, including document storage and
retrieval, dissemination of notices and information, and automation of
maintenance scheduling.
A strata property of any size, from less than 10 units to
over 100, can now utilize the system and the only requirement is an Internet
connection. The strata property should see an immediate improvement in
communications and information flow between all the interested parties.
The benefits to each user group are:
Maximize capital appreciation and minimize operating costs
by improving budgeting and maintenance scheduling
Spend less time on the “tasks” of strata management
Instantly provide notices to owners, tenants and
interested parties
Immediate on-line access to all important documents,
maintenance records, contracts and meeting minutes
On-line approval and distribution of minutes
Reduce the internal administrative costs of serving strata
properties
Automate maintenance scheduling
Spend less time on non-value added functions
Reduce time and expense copying and distributing material
Seamlessly and effortlessly provide relevant information
to strata councils
Receive all information in a secure and timely manner
Know who to contact in any situation
Easily select services from a list of known tradesmen and
service providers
Absentee owners can stay informed of all developments from
any location
The benefits to the
“wired” strata council and tenants are extensive, however, the management
system anticipates that not every tenant in the strata will be connected to the
Internet.
Strata-assist was started by three individuals who have
had the personal experience of taking care of rental properties, serving on
strata councils and helping manage co-op living arrangements. The personal pain
experienced by the founders during the performance of mundane tasks, retrieving
old information, and the change over in strata council personnel sparked the
idea for the creation of the service.
The application is web based and therefore users never
worry about backing up data, installing software or server availability. A low
annual subscription fee, based on the number of units, is paid by the strata
property. The annual fee is typically less than $1,000 for the total property.
